Day 31 - Summer Programs

Please pray that the Gospel will be communicated clearly and effectively through our summer camp programs, and that God would continue to work powerfully through the ministry of Camp Elim. With so many moving parts, it’s easy to feel scattered, especially as the summer progresses. Pray for unity within our staff and volunteers, and that we would work as one body to the glory of God. Please pray for wisdom regarding our summer calendar. We already have nearly 1000 campers already registered and over 200 on the waiting list!

But for this purpose I have raised you up, to show you my power, so that my name may be proclaimed in all the earth.

Day 30 - GAP Year

We are completing the academic portion of our 11th GAP Year. This program of study, discipleship, and service has been a powerful addition to Camp’s program. This year we have enjoyed 12 students with us for this 50-week program. Please pray for our GAP students, that they would be equipped and empowered for future service for the kingdom of God. Pray for them this summer as they will be frequently serving in leadership roles among our summer staff. Pray too for more students for the 2026-27 school year.

Trust in the Lord and do good;

Day 29 - Church and Ministry Support

Praise God for the support of churches for our ministry! Pray that more churches continue to catch the vision and partner in ministry with Camp. Pray as well for our day camp program, Camp Elim In the City, and the opportunity it provides for us to connect with local churches in a tangible way. Thank the Lord for the many churches and ministries that host retreats here, and for all who have come to a deeper knowledge of the Savior through these programs.

In addition, please pray that Camp Elim would be a blessing to the local church and other local ministries, as we continue to partner with and work alongside these organizations in bringing the Gospel to the world.

So with yourselves, since you are eager for manifestation of the Spirit, strive to excel in building up the church.

Day 28 - Safety and Protection

Ask God to provide safety, health, and protection from disease for campers and staff, as Camp Elim strives to remain a place of both spiritual and physical wellness. Pray for safety during travel to and from excursions and off-site programs.
Pray too that God would continue to protect Camp’s location. Pray for provision of adequate water supply, and that He would continue to protect us from wildfire in a particularly dry year.

Pray for protection for Camp’s ministry. Ask God that He would provide good relationships with local and state authorities in a society increasingly hostile to the gospel. Pray that we would represent Christ well in our interactions with licensing officials.

The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous man runs into it and is safe.

Day 27 - Servant Leader Training

Ask the Lord to use this training week (May 31-June 5) to be a catalyst for growth in the lives of our staff. Pray that each volunteer will be equipped to share the gospel effectively and be encouraged to continue their ministry mindset in the local church after camp. Pray that the Lord would draw each staff member closer to Himself and closer to the team with whom they will be living and serving this summer.

Join us for our Dedication Celebration on Friday, June 5 for dinner at 5:00 pm. At 6:00 p.m. we’ll dedicate our summer staff to the Lord for the intense season of ministry ahead. Email [email protected] to RSVP!

Day 26 - Sammy Zirnhelt

Please pray for Sammy as she enters her first summer as a full time staff member serving as the female GAP Year RA and working with our volunteer staff. Also be praying for wisdom and guidance as she mentors the GAP girls, and that she would help create and cultivate a Christ-centered community with the incoming GAP students. Sammy is excited to watch the GAPs this coming summer, as they put into practice everything they have learned thought the year.

But when the goodness and loving kindness of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit.

Day 25 - Tim and Cindy Meinert

Tim’s work at camp demands a lot physically - please pray for endurance, energy, and wisdom as he spends that energy. He would also appreciate prayer as he continues to deepen his dependence on God, and boldness as he mentors younger staff. Cindy is taking on a new role at their local church. She would appreciate prayer for clear leading and wisdom as she prepares to do some teaching, and for deep compassion and love as she walks alongside grieving and wounded folks.

So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.
