POP Into the Spotlight: Where Prince of Peace highlights some of our phenomenal clergy and lay leaders.
Today, meet Nancy Alspaugh-Jackson—
The exceptional families ministry has been going strong at Prince of Peace Church; for 12 years. Founded by Prince of Peace vestry member Nancy Alspaugh-Jackson, and her son Wyatt, who has autism and grew up at this church, it was established for a need that Nancy saw for our Special Needs Community to have a spiritual connection long before “inclusion” became a buzzword.
It was one of the first of its kind to welcome Special Needs young people and adults to worship freely and celebrate the word of the Lord. The service is held quarterly at 5 o’clock on a Saturday followed by fellowship and a meal. One of things that makes exceptional families unique is that the Special Needs individuals take part in the service, everything from serving communion to reading scripture and singing praise songs. Come join us all are welcome!
