Update for in-person worship services tomorrow (Sunday, January 2, 2022):
Happy New Year!
A small work party met at the building Friday and was able to clear snow from the main driveway area and parts of the parking lot.
After clearing the snow, the crew found a layer of solid ice that could not be removed with the tools available.
Thank you to everyone who was able to meet and help with snow removal!
Those at the work party concluded that, despite the removal of snow, the remaining ice would cause severe challenges to many vehicles, especially on the drive back up the hill. This assessment was made Friday.
Given this risk, the current plan for worship Sunday morning will be to have a small crew of worship leaders meet and park at the top of the driveway so that we can broadcast a combination live/recorded worship service. Singing will most likely be pre-recorded because of the smaller number of people expected to be in attendance at the building.
We expect most people will choose to remain home and worship online with us Sunday. For any who choose to try to meet at the building, we urge you to consider the risks and to use extreme caution. Possible warming today and tomorrow may also improve navigability of the driveway in time for services tomorrow morning, but we will likely not know that until close to worship time. If you do decide to try to meet at the building and assess the safety for yourself, the best option may be to try to park at the top of the hill and walk down. Be advised that there is limited parking space at the top.
Thank you for your desire to worship our Lord together. May He bless you and your families as we start this new year.
