We give thanks for our church musicians!

From planning worship, to directing choirs, to accompanying the congregation in song, we know that church musicians are essential to our life together.

Let us pray. O God of majesty, whom saints and angels delight to worship: Pour out your Spirit on your servants who, with the gifts of music, enliven our praises and proclaim your word with power. Through this ministry, give us new awareness of your beauty and grace, and join our voices with all the choirs of heaven, both now and forever; through your Son, Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.

CWTA is excited to announce and welcome our Tuesday Plenary Speaker Rev. Laurie Hensley!
Pastor Laurie Hensley serves the congregation of Bethany Lutheran Church in Woodhull, Illinois. She holds a Master of Divinity from Wartburg Theological Seminary with a concentration in rural ministry and a Master of Business Administration from Columbia College. She currently serves as Trustee for the Cornerstone Foundation of Lutheran Social Services of Illinois and as the Spiritual Director for the Living Water Via de Cristo chapter in Northern Illinois. Laurie is passionate about exploring ways that worship, liturgy, music, and service connect to help all generations grow in faith. Laurie entered ordained ministry in her 50’s after feeling nudge of the Holy Spirit for at least 20 years. Before entering seminary, she worked in finance and real estate. When not wearing all the hats of a rural parish pastor and finally finds downtime, she enjoys traveling, movies, and spectator sports (especially football).
