An Update from Cardinal Tobin Regarding We Are His Witnesses

Pontifical Mission Society

Fr. Vijay Joseph is the Founder / Director / Treasurer of Love & Care Mission which emerged to embrace the poor and needy worldwide. From little children to the aging, they offer assistance and support to various projects worldwide that bring relief and growth. He has been sent by Msgr. Robert Fuhrman, Archdiocesan Director of the Pontifical Mission Societies for the Archdiocese of Newark, to conduct a mission appeal in our parish. He will speak to us about his mission, and the people he helps through it, during the Sunday Masses the weekend of August 8/9. Let us welcome him with our support and generosity.

Registration for Lighting Our Faith 2026

Our summer religious education program, Lighting Our Faith (LOF), is open for registration to students entering Grades 3 - 6 in September. The summer education program will take place weekdays from Friday, June 19th through Friday, June 26th, 9:30 am to 1:00 pm. Parents NEED to volunteer as a catechist, catechist aide, acting workshop teacher, or sport/recreational facilitator.

In addition to regular Sunday Mass attendance (which is just part of being a Catholic Christian), there will be a series of events throughout the year (usually once a month September thru May) which those children enrolled in LOF will have to attend. These events will take place during the regular Faith Formation time (Wednesdays from 3:45 pm - 5 pm).

The registration forms are available under the ‘Faith Formation (Lighting Our Faith)’ tab on our website. Please print and fill out a ‘Lighting Our Faith Information and Agreement Form,’ a ‘Lighting Our Faith Student Registration Form,’ and a ‘Parental Agreement 2026-2027’ form. Thanksgiving Mass for the Consecration of the United States to the Sacred Heart of Jesus

As part of the celebration of the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, the U.S. bishops will consecrate the United States of America to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. All are invited to participate tonight at 7:30 p.m. in the Cathedral Basilica of the Sacred Heart, Newark. Two parishioners volunteered to represent Our Lady Mother of the Church for the Mass, one to carry the parish’s U.S. Flag and the second to carry the parish’s banner. Attend the Mass to find out who they are (and encourage them in the procession)!
