The Woodbury Friends Meeting is a member of the Religious Society of Friends, also known as the Quakers. The Woodbury Meeting is the oldest continuously meeting religious organization in New Jersey that hasn’t changed denominations. The meeting is known as a “monthly meeting” because local Quaker meetings tend to hold their business meeting at least once a month, however most meetings worship weekly. Any and all are welcome to meet for worship. “First Day” school starts at 10 am on Sundays, taking the form of a lesion/discussion for the adults and a class for any children present. The worship is “un-programed”, meaning that there is no sermon or central speaker. We sit quietly for an hour, but if one feels moved to speak they are encouraged to do so.
