As I announced this morning (due to the weather and cancelling evening services), we will have FB Live discussion at 5 PM. We will discuss the lesson from this morning: "Home Part 1" (Philippians 3:20-21). In our discussion we will pick up a little more of the context (Philippians 3:18-21). We will also look at Revelation 21 (which we referenced heavily in the lesson). The questions we will discuss tonight are below. I hope you will join us.
1. What does the idea that our "citizenship" is in heaven indicate?
2. Why is important for Christians to live as transplants?
3. Why is it sometimes hard to live as a transplant (citizen of heaven)?
4. Why do so many live with their mind set on earthly things (vs. 19)? Why do Christians sometimes struggle with this?
5. What can help us identify more with our "homeland" and eagerly await it?
6. Why do so many of our "heaven songs" focus on the city imagery in Revelation 21?
7. How can the end of sin and the removal of the curse take away all reason for tears?
8. Should the fact that Revelation 21:8-9 describes the city as the bride (the church in glory) encourage us? Does it help us to see heaven as made for us?
9. What does Revelation 21:7 mean by "the one who overcomes"?
10. What are you most looking forward to in heaven?
