A Sacred Beginning 🕉️🚩

With the grace of the Divine, the blessings of the Guru Parampara, and the dedicated seva of countless devotees, Chinmaya Upavan has been inaugurated.

The celebrations began with the Hanumān Cālīsā Havan, as devotees came together in prayer to invoke the noble qualities embodied by Lord Hanumān — devotion, courage, humility, selfless service, and steadfast faith.

The following day, Pujya Swami Swaroopananda inaugurated Chinmaya Upavan, marking a beautiful new chapter in the journey of Chinmaya Mission in New York.

Swami Chinmayananda first set His footsteps in New York in 1965. Over the decades, here in New York, His vision and teachings have reached hearts across Manhattan, Queens, Long Island, Westchester, and beyond — inspiring generations to discover the highest wisdom of the Vedas.

Now, with His journey firmly etched into Chinmaya Upavan, may this sacred space continue to be a home for Seva, Devotion, and Wisdom for generations to come.

In many ways, spiritual practices such as the Hanumān Cālīsā and Havan help us apply that “Nārāyaṇa oil” — *cultivating inner strength, devotion, clarity, and resilience* before we step into the ever-changing currents of daily life.

As we celebrate *75 years of the Chinmaya Mission Movement* and *prepare to inaugurate Chinmaya Upavan* , we *invite our entire CMNY family to be part of this sacred occasion on July 25, 2026.*

🕉️ _Unable to attend the Hanuman Chalisa Havan in person?_
You can still participate through In-Absentia Havan & Puja and have a saṅkalpa offered in your name.

👨‍👩‍👦‍👦 For those attending in person, each family will be assigned a havan kuṇḍa and will participate together by chanting the Hanumān Cālīsā and making offerings into the sacred fire under the guidance of the priest. It is a beautiful opportunity for parents, children, and youth to *experience a traditional Vedic ritual together and create a lasting spiritual memory.*

🙏 The Hanuman Chalisa Havan is an *opportunity to invoke the noble qualities that Lord Hanumān embodies — devotion, courage, humility, selfless service, and steadfast faith.* Through this sacred worship, we pray for purity of mind, strength of character, and the wisdom to navigate life’s joys and challenges while remaining anchored in the Divine.
