LARGEST OF DINOSAURS BURIED BY THE FLOOD
Patagotitan mayorum is not just the largest dinosaur ever discovered. It is one of the loudest geological witnesses to catastrophe the world has ever unearthed. Discovered in Patagonia, Argentina, this colossal sauropod stretched over 120 feet long and weighed an estimated 70 tons. Its bones were not found scattered and weathered as one would expect from slow burial over millions of years. They were found together, deeply entombed in thick sediment, preserved on a scale that demands a violent explanation.
The fossils of Patagotitan were buried rapidly in massive layers of water laid sediment. That matters. Creatures of this size do not die quietly and wait around to be slowly covered. A carcass that large would be torn apart by scavengers, bacteria, and decay within days. For bones of this magnitude to be preserved at all, let alone in articulated condition, burial had to be fast, deep, and catastrophic. This is exactly what we would expect from a global Flood, where rising waters uprooted ecosystems, transported massive animals, and buried them under tons of sediment in a very short time.
Uniformitarian explanations struggle here. Slow river flooding cannot move, bury, and preserve animals this large without destroying them. Local events do not explain why similar massive dinosaur graveyards are found across continents, all embedded in vast sedimentary layers that span regions and even mountain ranges. Patagotitan does not stand alone. It joins countless other dinosaur fossils found worldwide in watery graveyards that testify to sudden burial, not slow accumulation.
Genesis describes a world reshaped by judgment. “All the fountains of the great deep burst forth, and the windows of heaven were opened.” That kind of event would generate the exact conditions needed to bury enormous land animals quickly and preserve them for discovery today. Patagotitan mayorum is not evidence of a peaceful world slowly changing over deep time. It is evidence of a world violently interrupted.
The largest dinosaur ever found does not whisper of millions of calm years. It roars of catastrophe. And that roar points directly to the Flood recorded in Scripture, a real event that reshaped the earth and left its mark in stone for anyone willing to listen.
