Hagar being told to return to Sarah is one of those moments in Scripture that can feel difficult to understand, especially when we remember what she was running from. But this passage is not a blanket command for people to stay in harmful or abusive situations. It's a specific moment in Hagar’s story where God sees her, speaks to her, and begins unfolding a promise that will become clearer as the story continues.

God’s goodness is not always easy to recognize in the middle of the wilderness, but Hagar’s story reminds us that He is still present, still purposeful, and still aware of every detail.

Learning how to talk to God can be challenging, especially when we're overwhelmed and aren't sure what to say. The good news is that God has provided a means of communication, even when we don't speak. Here's what He says:

"In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans." - Romans 8:26 📖

So, make the effort to create time and space for prayer. But if you feel like you've done all the right steps and still aren't sure what to say, God hears what the Spirit knows. 💙

Controversial take: faith does not mean pretending life is easy. It means remembering who God is when life is hard. When discouragement starts to shape your perspective, remember that the same God who watches over the sparrow is watching over you.

He sees you, He cares for you, and He has not forgotten you.

God’s commands aren’t the problem... our rebellion is. We like to call obedience “restriction” because it sounds better than admitting we don’t want anyone telling us no.

But God’s law was never meant to rob His people of joy. It was meant to reveal His holiness, protect His people, and lead them into life.

The same God who rescues is the same God who rules, and that’s GOOD NEWS.
