Eliza R. Snow, the second general president of the Relief Society (1880-1887) shared this timeless truth, “...sisters visiting their respective blocks could speak a word of kindness to some drooping or desponding soul, that a word spoken thus to cheer the spirit, is worth more than a purse of gold.”

When we are feeling down or discouraged, a small token of kindness can make a big difference. It doesn’t take more than a few moments to look around for someone to lift or encourage.

Go and share a kind word, and be an example of optimism and love to someone today!

On Thursday, August 8th, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints donated 26 pallets, nearly 40,000 pounds of food, to the Ctfoodbank in Wallingford, CT. The food was transported from Salt Lake City, UT and members of the local congregation, including their faith leaders, Bishop Aaron Lawrie and President Letterio Asciuto, were onsite to help receive the food.

Recently, there has been a 40% increase in people coming to the food bank to receive food. Of that percentage, 30% have never received food provided by the food bank before. Ctfoodbank provides 23.9 million meals and has a staff of 50 volunteers.

We are humbled to be part of this humanitarian outreach and provide food provisions to our local community!
