"The theme for this year’s Synod is Rooted. Why Rooted? It’s an obvious reminder that our roots in the gospel and the Anglican tradition shape our work of ministry, but it’s also a call to remember that fruitful ministry depends on deepening roots in Christ. This year Truro Anglican Church in Fairfax, VA is hosting, and we’re hopeful this will be a memorable time of worship, fellowship, learning, and celebrating all that God is doing throughout the diocese.

Rooted isn’t simply the theme of our Synod. It’s an invitation to remember who we are and whose we are, as we worship together, encourage one another, and look toward the future God is calling us into."

On the evening of July 1, 2026, Incarnation Anglican Church in Williamsburg, VA, held its first “Tattoo Story Night with Fr. John.” In 2025, Fr. John completed a residency in evangelism with Evangelize Today (ET), which is led by the Rev. Dr. Al Dayhoff of Fairfax, VA. Fr. John talked about the growing popularity of tattoos and suggested the working hypothesis of ET: A tattoo is a confession in search of a confessor, but we have none.

ARDF will be partnering with the Anglican Church in Nepal to support the response to this devastating disaster.

Leaders of the Anglican Church in Nepal have been on the ground in the affected region to meet with church leaders, assess needs, and begin responding with relief and practical support through the church. The Anglican Church in Nepal is already providing shelter and food at two church locations in the impacted areas. At least one local Anglican church was flooded, and eight church members remain missing. The Church has also reported that communities are facing deep distress in addition to urgent needs for food, clean water and temporary shelter, and they have highlighted the needs of especially vulnerable people such as the sick, the elderly, pregnant women, and children. Road access to some of the worst affected areas are cut off, and water sources are contaminated.

Communities affected by these floods are facing deep distress in addition to urgent needs for food, clean water, and temporary shelter. The Anglican church is coming alongside families to meet people’s urgent needs and to offer comfort through practical care and compassion.
