It was backpack blessing today. The kids each got a tag to put on their backpack to remind them that God is always them. They also got a crocheted heart as a reminder that their church family loves them too.

We kicked off Spark today. The kids enjoyed a lunch and a movie. We will meet the first and third Wednesdays of each month starting on September 16th. Preschool through sixth grade. We meet 5:30-6:30. This includes singing, a lesson a craft and supper. Join us. 🥰

Pastor Nikki is offering a confirmation class for 7th graders and up who have not been confirmed.
She is going to do a program with a monthly zoom lesson and 3 retreats at Wesley Woods.
Classes will be the first Sunday of the month starting in September at the Logan UMC.
There is a retreat she would like some to attend if possible in August.

Amazingly, the school year is coming closer. Spark kicks off on Tues, Aug 11th with a movie day with lunch at 11:30am. The first regular Spark class will be Wed, Sept 16th at 5:30pm. Spark is for PreK thru 6th grade.

Pastor Nikki has come up with a yearly calendar for the youth events and outings. We are opening these up to Logan, Woodbine, Dunlap and Dow City as several churches are working on growing their programs.

Youth night for 4th-12th grades in Logan is the first Wed night of the month starting in September at the Logan UMC. She welcomes youth from all of the towns she works with.

She is also planning a high school book study club on the 4th Wednesday night of the month. She has talked to a few of the high schoolers about this. The location may vary depending on participants.

Our annual Backpack Blessing will be Sun, Aug 23rd.
Please have your kids bring their backpacks to church that Sunday to be blessed for a great school year!
