The Wood River Cemetery Association cares for a place deeply rooted in our community’s history.

One of the earliest recorded burials in the Wood River Cemetery is that of Charles Orson Barrick, who passed away on June 10, 1879, at just 4 years old. His story is one of many that make this cemetery such a meaningful and sacred place.

For generations, our association has worked to maintain, improve, and preserve the beauty of the cemetery. In just the past four years, we’ve had to remove more than 20 original pine trees—trees that once provided shade and character for decades. While necessary, the cost of removal has been significant. We’ve also invested in planting new trees to ensure the cemetery continues to thrive for years to come.

As we head into our most demanding season, the costs of watering, mowing, and trimming continue to grow. We are grateful for the hardworking local professionals who help us keep the grounds looking their best.

We are a small board of dedicated volunteers who care deeply about this special place—and we can’t do it without your support.

Please consider making a donation to help us continue preserving the Wood River Cemetery for future generations. Every contribution truly makes a difference.
