Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
Christ is risen! Alleluia! He is truly risen — Alleluia!
With great joy, I extend to you and to all who live within the boundaries of our parish a blessed and happy Easter. Whether you join us every Sunday, come occasionally, or have not been with us for some time, please know that you are remembered, valued, and held in prayer by this parish community. Easter is a feast not only for the regular churchgoer, but for every person who calls this place home. The risen Lord comes for each one of us, exactly where we are.
Easter is the heart of our faith. What began in sorrow on Good Friday bursts forth in triumph at the empty tomb. The darkness of death gives way to the light of new life. The disciples who once hid in fear are filled with courage and hope. This transformation is not just a story from long ago—it is the promise God makes to us today. No matter what burdens we carry, no matter how heavy our hearts may feel, the resurrection of Jesus tells us that hope is never lost. God is always at work bringing life out of death, joy out of sorrow, and light out of darkness.
In our daily lives, we all experience moments that feel like Good Friday — times of loss, uncertainty, disappointment, or loneliness. Perhaps this past year has brought challenges to your family, your health, your work, or your sense of peace. Easter does not ignore these realities. Instead, it speaks directly into them. The risen Christ still bears the wounds of the cross, reminding us that God’s love meets us in our suffering and carries us through it. The empty tomb assures us that suffering and death do not have the final word.
As your pastor, I want you to know that this parish is here for you — not only in times of celebration, but also in times of need. Our church is more than a building; it is a spiritual home. It is a place where you are always welcome to seek God, to ask questions, to find comfort, and to grow in faith. If you have been away, I gently invite you to consider returning, even if just for a visit. There is no judgment here — only the open arms of Christ and a community ready to receive you.
Easter is also a time of renewal. Just as spring brings new life to the earth, the resurrection invites us to begin again. Perhaps this season is an opportunity to deepen your prayer life, reconnect with the sacraments, or reach out to someone in need. Even small steps — an extra moment of gratitude, a kind word, an act of forgiveness — can become powerful signs of the new life God is creating within us.
To our families, thank you for striving to pass on the faith in a busy and demanding world. To our elderly and home-bound members, your prayers are a quiet but powerful strength in our parish. To those who feel distant from the Church, know that you are not forgotten. And to every person living within our parish boundaries, regardless of how often you attend Mass, this message is meant for you: you belong, and you are loved.
The joy of Easter is not meant to be kept to ourselves. It is a gift to be shared — in our homes, our neighborhoods, and our daily encounters. A smile, a word of encouragement, a gesture of kindness — these are simple ways we can witness to the risen Christ. In a world that often feels divided and uncertain, your faith and your goodness can be a light to others.
As we celebrate this holy season, may the peace of the risen Lord fill your hearts and homes. May you experience His presence in both ordinary and extraordinary moments. And may the hope of Easter remain with you long after the season has passed.
Please know that I am grateful for you and that I carry you in my prayers each day. May God bless you abundantly this Easter and always.
In Christ’s love,
Your Pastor,
Fr. Sam Conforti
