THE WORK OF THE HOLY SPIRIT
ON this Pentecost Sunday we think of the Holy Spirit as the Giver of Life (Ps. 104:30). He continually creates and renews all life, animals and plants alike. Such a blessing this is for this broken old world. Sadly the cycle of life has been married by our sin. God then sent His Son to become flesh so that by His death and resurrection, we may have life. Now with the gift of the Holy Spirit, we receive this new life through Holy Baptism, connecting us with Christ's life-giving death and resurrection. THEN--at our own resurrection we will have the ultimate gift of the Spirit: LIFE EVERLASTING!!!
