On January 7, 2026, Pope Leo XIV officially proclaimed a Franciscan Jubilee Year to commemorate the 800th anniversary of the death of St. Francis. This Jubilee Year was declared open from January 10, 2026 to January 10, 2027. In our diocese, Our Lady of the Angels Convent in Wolfforth and San Francisco de Asis in Ropesville have been designated as Pilgrim Sites. Events will be hosted throughout this Jubilee Year to encourage the faithful to renew their commitment to the values exemplified by St. Francis. Please join in in celebrating this Jubilee Year. Through the intercession of St. Francis, may we grow in peace, humility and generosity becoming instruments of God's healing presence wherever we go.

As we celebrate National Vocations Awareness Week, we pray for all the consecrated women who have answered the call of the Good Shepherd to ministry among His people with love, mercy and compassion. Thank you, Sisters for your faithful witness and service.

Prayer for a Sister

Loving God, I ask for a special blessing and outpouring of the Holy Spirit on (sister’s name), whom you have called to be yours. Let her vocation grow and develop through a deep spirit of prayer and by following the path of Jesus Christ, your Son.
May Mary protect her from all harm and, through her powerful intercession, obtain for her all the graces she needs to grow into the image of Jesus, the high priest. Give her the grace to embrace the cross through all difficulties, knowing that faith is made strong through trials.
Make the yoke easy and the burden light by keeping her ever close to the loving Heart of your Son.
Amen.

The Saint Francis Mission Sisters would like to thank everyone for their words of condolences and prayers for the repose of the soul of Sister Charlotte Lujan. May she rest in peace!

Funeral Services for Sister Charlotte Lujan are as follows.
Visitation will be at Sanders Funeral Home on Sunday, August 25, 2024, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm followed by a rosary. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Monday, August 26, 2024, at 10:00am at Holy Spirit Catholic Church located on 9821 Frankford Ave. Lubbock, TX.
