Today, we give thanks for the gift of our nation and its flag—a symbol of the freedoms we cherish, the sacrifices made to preserve them, and national unity.
As Christians, we remember that while we live as citizens of the United States, our highest citizenship is in heaven (Philippians 3:20). Our earthly freedoms, including the freedom to worship, are blessings from God’s gracious hand—opportunities to boldly share the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
On this Flag Day, we ask the Lord to guide us to be faithful witnesses in our communities. May we honor our nation not only with gratitude, but with lives lived in service, love, and truth—reflecting Christ in all we do.
“Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord.” — Psalm 33:12
