The Robbins family has been such a welcome crew at FBC and we want to celebrate Gabby and Justin’s newest addition with a little “sprinkle!” Snacks and fellowship during Sunday School June 21 will be hosted by our young adult classes — all church family members are welcome to stop by with diapers, wipes and well-wishes! (The family prefers Huggies diapers and Aqua wipes for sensitive skin!)

Memorial Day is more than a long weekend and a cookout. The men and women we honor today gave their lives so someone they would never meet could enjoy their freedom. That is the shape of love.

Wendell Berry's prayer is a good one for this Monday: "let his kindness go ahead of me." Carry their servant spirit into the week. Sit with someone in a hospital waiting room. Show up at a neighbor's house when they need a hand and you have one to give.

This Sunday: Acts 24, "Fix-It Felix." 9:45 AM. Pastor Garrison preaching. Come early, sit close, bring a friend.

Mark your calendar. Baby shower for Keely and Garrett Fontenot, Friday May 30 at 1 PM in Winnsboro. Baby shower for Madison Hill and Trace Cheek is Saturday June 6 at 10 AM in the Fellowship Hall. Summer Small Group launches Wednesday June 10 at 6:30 PM at the Smiths' home. VBS Freestyle, July 26 to 29.

The office is closed today for Memorial Day. Jessica is back tomorrow, 8 AM to noon, all summer.

This Sunday: Acts 23, "Take Courage." 9:45 AM. Come early, sit close, bring a friend. Before Sunday, read Abbie Barefield's guest devotional. She wrote on serving when nobody's watching. And mark June 10. Our Summer Small Group launches that Wednesday at 6:30 PM at the home of Dr. Roger and Jan Smith. Weekly through the summer. Wednesday programming at the church is paused until then, so we'll see you Sunday and at the Smiths' on the 10th.

It is awards and graduation season at our local schools. This morning at Gilbert the Pre-K awards ceremony started off with the pledge led by Samson McCarty and the prayer led by Jude Harper, two of our very own. We celebrate the achievements of all our students and pray for them as they continue to grow in stature and wisdom. Share with us your photos from end of year celebrations and we will make a post celebrating our students achievements this year.

Our students enjoyed a pool party at the Young’s last night. If you heard loud noises coming from Pilgrims Way this may explain it!

Tonight, the youth are meeting at the church at 5:30 to go swimming. The business meeting is at 6 in the Sanctuary; please plan to attend as we discuss future plans for Wednesday nights. There are no activities for kids tonight.

Church family — the May 11th Informer is out.
A few things this week you don't want to miss:
Food Bank correction: We had the wrong dates last week. Packing is Thursday, May 14 at 4 PM. Distribution is Saturday, May 16 at 7:30 AM. Come help us serve Franklin Parish.
Dry Goods Drive this Sunday, May 17 — we're collecting for Good Samaritans of Franklin Parish. Bring toiletries, wipes, paper goods, and cleaning supplies. Full list in the newsletter.
Sunday morning — Tyler Roberts is in the pulpit, preaching through Acts 22. Come expecting to hear from the Lord.
Wednesday night — we're holding a town hall business meeting at 6 PM to talk honestly about our Wednesday night challenges and how we move forward together for families and kids. This conversation matters. Be there.
