Choosing Grace Over Grievance:
National Day of Forgiveness

At St. Luke Lutheran Church, we are reminded that forgiveness is at the very heart of our faith. On this National Day of Forgiveness, we reflect on the incredible gift of God’s grace—and the call to extend that same mercy to others.

In our Lutheran tradition, we regularly practice confession and absolution, remembering that we are continually made new through Christ. As God’s word reminds us in Ephesians 4:32: "Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you."Forgiveness isn't always easy. It doesn't mean forgetting or minimizing pain. Instead, it is a conscious decision to let go of bitterness, freeing our own hearts to heal and allowing God's love to bridge our divisions.

Whether you need to seek forgiveness from someone, grant it to someone who has hurt you, or simply receive the unconditional forgiveness God promises you every single day, we invite you to pause, pray, and take that step today.

If you are looking for a community to walk with you in faith, grace, and reconciliation, join us this Sunday for worship at 9:00 AM. Our doors and our hearts are always open.
