🌞MORNING PRAYER

Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.

INSPIRATION

This verse is an encouragement to the believer. John reminds us that the “He who is within us" (God) is greater than “he who is in the world" (the spirit of antichrist). In context, John is speaking of the many false spirits who will show up in the last days. He assures the believer that the spirit of God has allowed us to overcome these false spirits. We don’t have to worry because we have made preparations by accepting the One True God, who is greater than anything the world has to offer.

PRAYER

Mighty God, You are powerful and holy. There is no one like You. You keep me strong against evil influences and false doctrine. Help me to hear only Your voice among the many false voices in the world. Remind me that Your presence within me is greater than anything in this world. Amen.

🌞MORNING PRAYER

For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones.

INSPIRATION

Vanity is very displeasing to God. When we are overly confident in our abilities, He has to remind of us who He is. He is High and Holy. He is the High and Exalted One. He has to, in a sense, put us in our place, when we get “too big for our britches." He prefers to dwell with the “contrite" and the “lowly in spirit." Once again we see God prefer the humble over the arrogant. It should be a very powerful lesson to us in how we should behave.

PRAYER

Lord, I thank You for who You are. I praise You. You are high and exalted. You are Holy and Mighty. Help me to have a lowly spirit so that You will dwell with me and prefer my company. Amen.
