Tomorrow, Saturday, April 15, 2023, a funeral service will be celebrated for the late Jon Lagerstedt at Augustana Lutheran Church in Gibbon, MN. The service will begin at 11:00 am and a two-hour visitation will start at 9:00 am. Rev. Erik Karlson will officiate and Jon's niece, the Rev. Elizabeth Sillerud who serves a congregation in Montana, will deliver the Easter filled message of hope, trust, and resurrection in Christ.

Immediately following the service, Jon will be laid to rest alongside his parents in the Augustana Lutheran Cemetery. A meal will be served in Jon's honor where the gathered community may reflect on the many friendships he had as well as his service to his beloved community of the greater Gibbon and Winthrop areas. All are welcome to attend.

Good morning, beloved.

I spoke with congregational leadership earlier this morning and we determined that it would be in the best interest of the First LC congregation and the greater NIC Parish to postpone the Ash Wednesday worship service at First Lutheran to Wednesday, March 01, 2023, at 7:00 pm.

The potential for significant accumulation of snow between Tuesday and Thursday this week does not look promising, and we want to look out for the safety of the Neighbors in Christ Parish members.

Since First LC already has Wednesday, March 1st scheduled for a regular midweek Lenten service that evening, it just makes sense. A light meal will be served at 6:00 pm, and then we will head upstairs into the sanctuary and observe the Ash Wednesday time and beginning of the Lenten season.

I will make additional announcements on social media and have our website updated for the date change, as well as this Sunday's worship bulletin. Please contact others parish family and friends to make sure they understand the change of date for the service.
Thank you all for your faithful service and witness to the gospel and of our combined three congregations.

This morning we celebrate the life and death of Bob Sallstrom through the promises given to us in a resurrected Jesus Christ. Visitation begins at 9:30 am followed by a funeral service at 11:00 am. Burial at Winthrop Cemetery follows the service. Then all are welcomed to Hahn’s Restaurant for a meal prepared in Bob’s honor. Blessed be his memory.

Robert "Bob" Sallstrom, a member of First Lutheran in Winthrop, passed away yesterday at the age of 97. His funeral service will be celebrated at First Lutheran this Saturday, February 4th, beginning at 11:00 am with interment in the Winthrop Cemetery immediately following. Visitation of family and friends will be held at 9:30 am at the church. Blessed be his memory.

The funeral service for Donna Stuber will be celebrated this morning, Tuesday, January 31, at 11:00 A.M. at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Winthrop. Internment will be at in the Winthrop Cemetery immediately following.

Visitation will be from 9:30 A.M.-11:00 A.M. (1 1/2 hours prior), ALL at church.
