What makes fasting different from simply skipping a meal?🤔

Fasting is not about proving your commitment to God. It is about creating space to become more aware of His presence. Every hunger pang becomes a reminder to pray, every craving becomes an invitation to depend on Him, and every moment of surrender becomes an act of worship. As Romans 12 reminds us, we offer our whole selves to God, not just our words.

As we pray and fast together, our hearts become more attentive to God's voice, our prayers become more intentional, and we grow in compassion for those who live with daily need. These seven days are an opportunity to seek God together and allow Him to shape us from the inside out.

What happens when you stop needing to be the most important person in the room? Jesus had nothing to prove, which gave Him the freedom to notice people, serve them, and use His position for their good. That kind of humility changes the way you walk into your home, your workplace, and every relationship God has entrusted to you.

In Mark 10, Jesus connects greatness with becoming a servant. Following Him reshapes the question from “Where do I rank?” to “Who can I help become more like Jesus?” That is a different way to measure a life, and it is one worth practicing.🙏🏾🙏🏼

How much of what you do would still feel worth it if nobody ever applauded it? It's easy for recognition to quietly become the reward we are working toward, even while doing good things.

Jesus gives us a different picture of greatness. In John 13, He knew exactly who He was and still knelt down to wash His disciples’ feet. His humility came from security in the Father, which freed Him to serve without needing the room to acknowledge His importance. Following Jesus shapes that same freedom in us, where obedience to God becomes enough reason to serve, give, forgive, and take the lower place.😌
