Another busy day at Camp Temple Israel! Thank you to Men's Club for replacing the basketball net--it is definitely being put to good use! Campers enjoyed playground time, hula hoops, Jewish songs, and a game of "Red Light, Green Light." Then it was time to finish their hamsa wind chimes and start on the Perler/melty bead projects. We have some talented artists! Thank you to Ed Calish for donating the marble run. Our little engineers loved it! We ended the day with more talent show practice and cookie baking.

We had a great first day at Camp Temple Israel! The morning started with a getting-to-know-you game, followed by playground time and a snack back inside to cool off. Next, Rabbi Neely taught the campers about havdalah in preparation for their 3D-printed spice box project. He created a template for each camper to design the lid of their spice box, and he'll have everything printed in time for Shabbat and the end of camp Friday. We got a movement break in with musical chairs, followed by hamsa wind chime painting in the art room. The day ended with plenty of planning and rehearsal time for our Shabbat talent show Friday, plus some hula hoop fun. The kids were creative and kind all day, earning shekels to go shopping in the shuk for prizes Friday. See everyone tomorrow for more fun!

Today was the last day of MAGAL for the year. Students got to see the installation at the school entrance of the tiles they painted to commemorate MAGAL's 10-year anniversary. There were lots of other activities today, including ice cream making and giving teacher appreciation gifts. Thanks for another great year!

L'Dor v'Dor had a great time reading The World Needs Beautiful Things, a story about a boy in ancient Egypt who collects colorful objects and eventually helps build the Mishkan with his treasures. Then our kids went on a scavenger hunt around the synagogue to find some of the Jewish treasures we have here. Thanks to our teens, Tilly and Sage, for leading L'Dor v'Dor this year. They look forward to seeing the kids next year when school starts back up.
