Today’s big idea is “Faith Is Trust”!

Faith is about believing; and when we talk about “putting our faith in Jesus”, what we’re really talking about is believing in Jesus. To have faith in Jesus – or to believe in Jesus – means that you trust Him. When we put our faith in Jesus, we don’t just believe that He’s God, we trust that he is our Savior. And when we trust that He is our Savior, we draw close to Him. When we are close, we can bring all of our fears, our hopes, our problems, and our dreams to Him, because we know that He has all the strength we need. When we put our faith in Jesus, that faith becomes active, and we put our trust in Him as our Savior – as the One who is strong enough to save us, heal us, teach us, protect us, and transform us! Let’s talk about this more together!

Is that a new series?! “Big Faith,” starts next Sunday!

We are learning about what are lives look like when we put our faith in Jesus. In week one, we learn that “Faith is Trust.” When we put our faith in Jesus, we don’t just choose to believe in God, we choose to trust Him with our entire lives! In week two we learn that “We Walk by Faith.” This means that we don’t follow our own map, but God’s map for how we should live, work, think, and love others! In week three we learn that “My Faith Works.” Because we put our faith in Jesus, we do the same works that He did while He was here on earth— we love, bless, heal, and help others!

Our series wrapped today with “I Believe In The Holy Spirit”!

Because God will never leave us without His presence, Jesus promises to send the Holy Spirit to be with us always. Jesus calls the Holy Spirit an “advocate,” which means He is our helper and our comforter. When we trust God to be the leader of our lives, the Holy Spirit becomes our guide into the life God has for us. When we have the Holy Spirit with us, He leads us into new areas of obedience to God, holiness, and faith.

Here are this week’s questions that you can use as conversation starters with your kids. Help them continue to grow in their relationship with the Holy Spirit! And swipe to the end for the CK Challenge!

In Calvary Kids we learned that “I Believe In Jesus Christ”!

Jesus was born from a human woman, Mary, and He lived a perfect life, which means He never sinned - not even once! When He became a man, Jesus taught about God the Father, did many miracles, and was sent to die on the cross even though He was innocent. And even though He really died, He was raised to life again three days later! In doing so, he made a way for us to be forgiven from our sins if we believe in him.

So when we put or “faith” in Jesus, or when we “believe in” Jesus, it means we make the choice to trust that Jesus really is the Son of God and can forgive our sins. When we
choose to believe in Jesus, we are also choosing to make Him the leader of our lives. When we become a believer in Jesus, a follower of Him, we are choosing to make Jesus’s way of life our way of life. We will spend time with Him, become like Him, and do what He did.

Check out this week’s questions and use them in conversations with your kids wherever you go this week! Also, swipe to the end to see our two part CK Challenge!

Today’s Big Idea is “I Believe In God Our Father”!

God is the one who builds his family! We call God “Father” because He loves, protects, and provides for the family that He created. Fun fact - you and everyone you know was created by God the Father! And because God created us, He loves us VERY MUCH. He loves us so much that He wants to make everyone a part of the special family that He created. When we join God’s family, we get to be close with Him every single day! God is our Father because He created a family where we could belong to Him. No matter who you are, where you come from, what you look like, or what family you have here on earth, God wants to be your Father. He wants you to be in His family!

Have you heard of a Hurricane Praise Party??

Take some time with your kids to worship during the storm! When we focus on God, we stop focusing on the chaos around us. Worship helps us put our eyes on God and powerful things can happen when we worship!

Here are some songs you can worship to with your kids throughout the storm!

Worship together. Pray together. Read God’s Word together.

Stay safe! We’re praying for you!

Today we kicked off our series by learning that “What I Believe Matters”!

It’s important to know what God is telling us, especially about Himself, because what we believe matters. It matters because what we believe determines how we behave. When we believe what is true about God, sometimes it leads us to do things that don’t make sense to anyone else, just like the story of Gideon in Judges 7.

Check out the questions above and ask them to your kids throughout the week. Help them grow in their relationship with God by guiding them and having Christ-centered conversations. And encourage them to follow this week’s CK Challenge!

Today Calvary Kids learned that we are “United For Life”!

Just like the Christians in Acts 4, we can share and
help one another during hard times because we are God’s family. We also do life together, forgive one another, support each other, worship, pray, and eat together, and so many other things! God doesn’t just make us a family to survive hard times, but to bless one another and the whole world! God’s plan is for all of his people to come together as one family, to love one another, and through our love for one another, for the world to know how much God loves them!

As a united family, you can carry these conversations on with your kids during the week! The questions above can help you do so!

Don’t let your kids forget their CK Challenge for the week!

Good news! We are “United By God’s Promise” and today your kids learned what that means!

God promised Abraham that his family would be a blessing to the whole world. This happened first through Jesus, who made it possible for us to join Abraham’s family. Then, through Jesus’s followers, the entire world would get to know Jesus and join God’s family, too! God’s promise never failed. Now we get to invite more people to experience God’s promise by joining His family!

Here are some question to start conversations with your kids about where they are at in choosing to be part of God’s family and how they can lead others to His promise!

Swipe to see this week’s CK Challenge at the end!

Today Calvary Kids learned that we are “United In Jesus”! We are all sinners and live in a world that is full of sin.
Jesus is the only way for us to remove the stain of sin and be close with God the Father once more. He offers forgiveness to everyone and all are given the opportunity to say yes to Jesus. Those who say no are choosing not to accept Jesus’s forgiveness, but those who say yes to Jesus get to receive everything that God has for them.

The slides above are questions you can ask your kids to keep the discussion going wherever you are this week! Make sure to tell your kids about this week’s CK Challenge!
