In Light of Today's Events...
Our hearts are with the community impacted by today’s attack at Temple Israel in West Bloomfield, Michigan. We are grateful that many lives were protected, and we keep the entire community in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult moment.
In times like these, we always want to make sure we are doing everything possible to keep our community safe and secure, while continuing to maintain the warm and welcoming atmosphere that Chabad is known for.
We are deeply grateful to Dr. David and Orly Diamond, whose generosity makes it possible for us to have professional armed security every single week on Friday night and Shabbat morning. Their ongoing support ensures that our community can gather for davening and programs with an added level of safety, and we sincerely appreciate their incredible commitment to our shul.
At the same time, during periods when heightened awareness is needed, especially with upcoming holiday gatherings, late dinners, and increased Holiday services, we would like to take additional steps to strengthen our security measures. This includes extra security hours and the installation of additional security features such as Ring cameras and other protective measures around the property.
These additional precautions fall outside of our regular budget, and we are reaching out to the community for help in making them possible.
If you are able to contribute toward strengthening security for our community, it would be deeply appreciated. Any amount helps!
