Family homelessness is not just a statistic — it is a growing reality impacting thousands of children and families right here in our community.
During the 2024–2025 school year, more than 5,000 students in Polk County Public Schools were identified under the McKinney-Vento Act as experiencing homelessness or housing instability. Behind every number is a child trying to learn while facing uncertainty, and a parent doing everything possible to keep their family safe.
At Talbot House Ministries’ Center for Women and Children, we are committed to providing safe housing, stability, compassionate support, and pathways toward healing and independence for women and children across Central Florida.
But we cannot do this alone.
We invite our community to become part of the solution:
• Tour our Center and see the impact firsthand
• Volunteer your time and talents
• Donate to help families rebuild their lives with dignity and hope
Every act of kindness helps restore hope and strengthen families.
