Disaster Relief Ministry Hurricane Update
I’d like to share a testimony from a person that we were able to assist in the Milton FL area this past week.
Pastor Chris Doran from Galilee Baptist Church gave us the name and address of a widow lady that needed some help. She lived across the street from some members of his church, Alex and Raine, that had been looking in on her since her husband passed away. When we arrived at the residence Mrs. Cheri’ was sitting in her garage cleaning out a refrigerator. As I walked up to introduce myself, she began to weep and I could only go and give her a hug and assure her that everything was going to be alright. I had to turn around and go back to my truck because it hit me very hard emotionally about how much people, specifically Mrs. Cheri’, are suffering.
We were able to clear up all the damage in her yard and around her house as well as several of her neighbors. As we were finishing one of her neighbors called us over and had prayer with us and just thanked God for sending us that way, what a blessing that was!
As Josh and Curtis were loading up the equipment, I grabbed my Bible and went inside to talk with Cheri’. Danny and Janice White (Missionaries to Vanuatu) were sitting with Cheri’ trying to encourage her. As I began to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with her, she shared with us her testimony of being Saved! So, I went through several Scriptures to comfort her and to let her know that she is not alone and that we loved her.
I recently preached a message about “Compassion that causes us to Move” and this was a perfect example and it all started with Cheri’s neighbors! Luke 10:33-34
