Established in 1909, First Christian Church is one of the founding churches in Winter Haven. For over a century, we have been a community grounded in faith, guided by love, and open to all. Who We Are
At First Christian Church, we proudly embrace our identity as an Open and Affirming congregation of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). We believe in living out Jesus Christ's life and teachings by extending radical hospitality to all people—no matter their race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, or socioeconomic status. Everyone is welcome to worship and participate fully in the life of our church. We are a safe, loving, and compassionate community where everyone is affirmed as part of God’s good creation. We celebrate the faith, baptism, and spiritual gifts of all Christians while working to advocate for those who have experienced exclusion and discrimination. At First Christian Church, there is no "membership requirement." Your participation defines your place in our community. Each Sunday, we invite all to make an affirmation or re-affirmation of faith in response to our denomination's traditional question:
"Do you believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and do you take Him as your Savior?"
