There is a moment when God’s grace finds us and completely transforms our story. What was once death gives way to life; what was once slavery gives way to freedom; what was once darkness is overcome by the light of Christ.

The Word reminds us:

“For He has rescued us from the kingdom of darkness and transferred us into the Kingdom of His dear Son.” — Colossians 1:13

Just as Lazarus heard Jesus’ voice and came out of the grave (John 11:43–44), we too are called by name to leave behind what once held us captive and to live a new life in Christ.

“Anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!” — 2 Corinthians 5:17

May we remember every time we sing this song: we have been brought out of darkness and called into His marvelous light.

This is what being the church looks like. 🤍

It’s coming to church and finding friends, children growing together, teenagers having fun, people praying, hugs, conversations, and hearts worshiping the Lord.

It’s sharing our faith, but also sharing life.

Because church isn’t only what happens on the altar. It’s fellowship, care, prayer, friendship, and the family God allows us to build along the way.

“So we, though many, are one body in Christ, and individually members of one another.” — Romans 12:5

May we never forget the privilege of belonging to a family of faith. 🫶🏼
