Partners and friends Revival in a local church is the greatest singular most important event a pastor can schedule for his congregation.
I have had some great revivals that started out locally one in Crowville Louisiana that sent Revival into the entire region with many great churches coming out of Winnsboro, Louisiana and from the Revival it was the birthing of the (Fresh Start recovery center).
Rock Church international Virginia Beach one of the largest mega churches in the area Revival consistent for nine consecutive weeks.
I’m very humble to be able to report this, but that was years ago. We need another great awakening in the local church.
A pastor scheduling a revival with a true, God-called, full-time evangelist is a vital, transformative event, often serving as the greatest catalyst for renewed spiritual life, evangelistic fervor, and corporate repentance a local church can experience.
By bringing in a specialized minister to focus on the preaching of the Word, the pastor allows the Holy Spirit to disrupt complacency and stir a passion for evangelism.
"A true revival is not merely a scheduled event, but a sovereign outpouring of God’s Spirit that humbles the church, convinces of sin, and breaks the power of worldliness.
When a pastor invites a dedicated, God-called evangelist to preach the Word, he is inviting the 'specialist' of the harvest to help bring a refreshing that can break the congregation out of lethargy, revive backslidden hearts, and compel lost souls to Christ, resulting in a community on fire for God."
Key Bible Verses Supporting Revival:
2 Chronicles 7:14: Calls for humility, prayer, and repentance to receive healing.
Psalm 85:6: A prayer for the Lord to bring revival and joy to His people.
Acts 3:19: Focuses on repentance for "times of refreshing" from God.
Habakkuk 3:2: A plea for God to revive His work and show mercy.
Ephesians 5:14: An exhortation to wake up from spiritual slumber.
Key Historical Revivals Led by Evangelists:
First Great Awakening (1730s–1740s): George Whitefield and John Wesley used open-air preaching to break through spiritual apathy.
Second Great Awakening (Early 1800s): Charles Finney's meetings emphasized immediate conversion and holiness, impacting thousands.
Businessmen's Revival (1857-58): Initiated by Jeremiah Lamphier, this movement saw over a million conversions.
Welsh Revival (1904-1905): Led by Evan Roberts, it centered on surrender to the Holy Spirit and radical repentance.
Hebrides Revival (1949-52): Duncan Campbell's ministry brought intense spiritual conviction that changed the entire region started with two elderly women in their 80s one blind praying for Revival to come to the Hebrides and sent an evangelist
