🌿 WAHDAH: The Triad Muslim Gathering 🌿

“And hold firmly to the rope of Allah all together and do not become divided.”
— Surah Ali ’Imran (3:103)

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:

“The believers, in their mutual love, mercy, and compassion, are like one body. When one limb suffers, the whole body responds with sleeplessness and fever.”
(Sahih al-Bukhari & Sahih Muslim)

Brothers and sisters, this is not a political event. This is not about one masjid, one organization, one race, or one nationality.

This is about the Ummah.

WAHDAH—meaning Unity—is an opportunity for Muslims from across the Triad to come together as one family for a full day of brotherhood, sisterhood, fellowship, recreation, and love for the sake of Allah.

Imagine our children making lifelong Muslim friends…

Our sisters meeting sisters from other communities…

Our brothers building relationships that continue long after this day…

Families breaking bread together…

Praying together…

Simply getting to know one another.

Bring your favorite dish or your signature recipe to share with your brothers and sisters.

If you own a business, bring your business cards. If you make or sell halal products such as oils, incense, clothing, books, jewelry, or other items, bring them along. This is a wonderful opportunity for our community to get to know you and support one another.

Don’t forget to bring your prayer mat, as we will pause during the day to stand shoulder to shoulder and offer our prayers together, reminding ourselves that despite our different backgrounds and masajid, we worship one Lord and face one Qiblah.

The Prophet ﷺ said:

“The believer to another believer is like a building, each part strengthening the other.”
(Sahih al-Bukhari & Sahih Muslim)

That is the vision of WAHDAH.

A Message of Gratitude and Honor

We extend our deepest gratitude and appreciation to Imam Khalid Griggs, the founder of the Community Mosque of Winston-Salem, whose leadership, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment have shaped and sustained this community for over four decades.

For more than forty years, Imam Khalid has stood as a pillar—teaching, guiding, serving, and striving in the path of Allah. His work reflects the spirit of true leadership rooted in sincerity, humility, and service to the people.

Allah says in the Qur’an:

“Indeed, Allah commands you to render trusts to whom they are due…” (Surah An-Nisa 4:58)

In a profound act of trust, humility, and wisdom, Imam Khalid has chosen to step down and recommend Brother Abdul Karim to carry the responsibility forward. This decision reflects not only leadership, but vision—ensuring continuity, growth, and stability for the community.

The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said:

“The best of people are those who are most beneficial to others.” (Hadith – Al-Mu’jam Al-Awsat)

Imam Khalid has embodied this teaching through decades of service, standing as a warrior for the community, yet always remaining humble in his character and intentions.

We honor his legacy, we thank him for his sacrifice, and we ask Allah to reward him abundantly, grant him continued strength, and preserve him as a source of wisdom and guidance.

May Allah place barakah in this transition and unite our community upon righteousness and sincerity.
