I keep coming back to Matthew’s stories — tax collectors, a bleeding woman, a synagogue leader and his dead daughter. Who’s “good”? Who’s “bad”? What does restoration actually look like?

I don’t have neat answers. But I do hear Jesus inviting people across the lines we draw: “Follow me.” Mercy over sacrifice. Relationship over judgement. Restoration is messy, mutual, and alive with risk — because it requires us to cross the spaces where we’ve been separated.

If you’re longing for a place where questions are welcome and grace comes first, come sit with us. We’re figuring this out together — at the table, online, and in the neighborhood. What would mercy look like in your life this week? Let’s talk. 🙏❤️

Danny Green will be stepping down as conductor of our orchestra and these June concerts will be his farewell. We want to spread the word and get people out in droves to give him a big send off! These concerts are free, open to the public and FANTASTIC! If you've never been to one of our concerts, you will be blown away! We are presenting the same concert at three locations, including Brendle Recital Hall on the Wake campus. Come out to any one, but please consider joining us at Brendle for Danny's final concert! Plus, our own Joel Everett will be our pianist for our grand finale of Rhapsody in Blue. Don't miss this!!

What does theology matter…really? I kept asking that as I prepared this week’s reflection for Trinity Sunday. Isn’t it easy to feel disconnected — headlines, stress, the daily scramble — while we sing hymns and repeat liturgy? But what if those repeated words aren’t empty rituals at all? What if they’re the source code that shapes how we live: grace, love, communion.

I’m convinced theology isn’t about getting a puzzle right — it’s about shaping the heart. When our faith guides our choices, we move toward mutuality instead of hierarchy; toward care instead of indifference. Imagine that—church decisions, our politics, even how we treat the environment—guided by grace, love, communion.

You’re invited to read the full piece and sit with the questions. Bring your doubts. Bring your hopes. Let’s name the hard things and practice a faith that changes how we live together. Link: https://wix.to/yPCI0Xp

What questions about faith are on your heart this week? Let’s talk below. 🙏✨

May 31, 2026Genesis 1:1-2:4; 2 Corinthians 13:11-13 Our second scripture this Trinity Sunday is more predictable because it gives the formula. Listen as God speaks to you through some familiar words from the end of Paul’s second letter to the Corinthians. READ This past week as my mind set to work...

“Grace is our word.” With that simple but sweeping claim, the Rev. Alex Thornburg framed a recent Leader Formation webinar exploring what it means to be Presbyterian in a time shaped by what he and co-author the Rev. Ted V. Foote Jr. call “dysvangelical” Christianity.

What happens when we stop staring into the sky and start listening for the Spirit in the messy, everyday places around us? I kept thinking about that as I re-read our Pentecost reflection: the disciples were confused, afraid, stuck—then the Spirit came and pushed them into the streets.

Isn’t that the dare we face now? To risk the familiar, to welcome voices we didn’t expect, to let our plans be reshaped by something wilder than our checklists. Could our best next step be less about a perfect 10‑year plan and more about being open to where God is already at work?

If you’re longing for a community that welcomes questions, encourages honest searching, and shows Christ’s love through action—come see what Parkway is like. We gather each week in worship (and stream online) to listen, to lean in, and to be sent. What might the Spirit be asking you to try today?
