As the election looms ahead and divisions deepen, we remind ourselves of the work ahead and beyond this moment-- healing in our homes, at work, at school, and in our communities. While it would be easy to side with the character of the world and allow conflict to fester, we instead choose empathy, compassion, and accountability. As such, we’re excited to share a free learning opportunity!
Human rights activist Loretta Ross is hosting a free lecture entitled "Calling In for Difficult Political Conversations" on Monday, October 26th at 7p! This will be an opportunity to learn about how to talk to loved ones and others about justice, human dignity, and accountability. There will also be an opportunity for folks to practice conflict resolution skills in groups. More info below and feel free to message us if you have questions!

"Our team is organizing a free, one-night event with Solidarity Groups before the election entitled: “Calling In for Difficult Political Conversations” on Monday, October 26, 2020, from 7-9:30 pm EST. I will begin the evening by framing the issue for all of us, including talking about the current situation and what is at stake and pointing us all in the direction of how we can call in each other and ourselves during this time.
The format will be an hour-long lecture by me followed by Solidarity Groups meeting for 1 ½ hours afterward, to grapple with our own thoughts and feelings about the current situation and consider possibilities for handling the difficult conversations that can precede an election of this import as well as considering the opportunities to step forward at this critical moment.
