Subject: With Gratitude, Moving Forward Together
October 26, 2026
Dear Bethabara Congregation,
Yesterday, the Provincial Elders Conference led us in an important congregational gathering. I am grateful for their presence and leadership, for the invitational welcome with which the meeting began, and for the opportunity we had to converse, ask questions, listen, and be heard. I also appreciate each person who came and participated because of a love for Christ and for Bethabara.
Now we have an opportunity to move forward together. The Provincial Elders Conference will form a task force to help guide Bethabara toward a Church Council and the election of a new church board. This is more than an organizational process. It is an opportunity to return to our roots as Bethabara—a “House of Passage.” Our name reminds us that we are not called to remain fixed in one moment, but to trust God through times of transition and to journey together into the future God determines and offers.
As we make this journey, we begin with what we hold in common: Jesus Christ is Lord, we belong to Him, and He is the center of our life together. Scripture calls us to “speak the truth in love,” so that we may grow together into Christ (Ephesians 4:15).
As we believe, we trust the grace, forgiveness, mercy, and reconciling love of Jesus. As we behave, we listen carefully, speak graciously, and seek the good of the whole congregation. As we embrace our life together, we receive one another as Christ has received us, making room for the Holy Spirit to guide, comfort, and form us as one body.
“Such things were written in the Scriptures long ago to teach us. And the Scriptures give us hope and encouragement as we wait patiently for God’s promises to be fulfilled. May God, who gives this patience and encouragement, help you live in complete harmony with each other, as is fitting for followers of Christ Jesus. Then all of you can join together with one voice, giving praise and glory to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, accept each other just as Christ has accepted you so that God will be given glory.
I am fully convinced, my dear brothers and sisters, that you are full of goodness. You know these things so well you can teach each other all about them.” (Romans 15:4–7, 14 NLT)
I am thankful for yesterday’s beginning and hopeful about what comes next. We may not yet know every step, but we know who leads us. With Christ at the center, let us live forward together in faith, hope, and love, trusting that “God gives the growth” (1 Corinthians 3:6).
With hope in Christ,
Pastor Tony
