The next time you’re in our building, be sure to walk down the hall on the main floor of the Education Building. We have newly installed artwork there by Ben Sloan, a talented visual artist who also happens to be a United Methodist pastor (at Sherwood Forest UMC).

Ben will join us for an artist talk & reception on Wednesday, June 24 @ 6:30 p.m., but between now and then, you’re encouraged to take in the art and do your own reflecting on what you see and experience in it.

June is Pride Month, and we’re excited for what’s in store for Green Street Church! Join us for this month’s spaces worship series, “Church Camp,” where we’ll be playing with themes of summer camp and camping out, as well as the q***r aesthetic known as “camp,” in conversation with scripture and theology. And don’t miss Drag Queen Storytime with Anna Yacht on June 10, the Winston-Salem Pride Parade & Festival on June 13, or an artist reception and talk on June 24 with Ben Sloan, whose artwork you’ll be seeing up in our building soon!

For this second of 2 “Spirit Weeks,” we’re marking Trinity Sunday and inviting you to dress in 3s—interpret that as you will! Pastor Sarah will preach from 2 Corinthians 13:11-13, and we’ll ask why it matters that God is relational in nature. Join us in-person at 8:45 or 11am, or worship with us in-person via Facebook or YouTube at 11:00.

Pastor Sarah has dubbed the next 2 Sundays “Spirit Weeks”! First up: Pentecost. Join us May 24 at 11:00 (no early service this week), and wear red! Red is the color of the Holy Spirit, and we’re celebrating her on Sunday.

On this final Sunday in our Creation Care series, we have one more thing to add to our terrarium: worms! Today we remember our basic oneness with one another, with God, and with creation—including these little wigglers—as we seek unity that resists uniformity.

For this final Sunday in our Creation Care series, we lift up one more hymn on that theme: Natalie Sleeth’s Hymn of Promise. Often sung at funerals, this hymn uses metaphors from nature to illustrate the promise of resurrection and new life.

We end our Creation Care worship series where we began—by underscoring our connection to God and to all creation. As we ask what “Becoming One” means and looks like in Jesus’ prayer in John 17, we will center hopeful examples of climate resilience and how our renewal and the renewal of the earth are bound up together. Join us in-person at 8:45 or 11am, or worship with us online via Facebook or YouTube at 11:00.

Our children's time on Sunday was interrupted by some exciting Breaking News—thanks to Wanda and Ron for creating this fun invitation to our Summer Sunday School adventure! We hope families with kids will join us on this journey (which we're taking in our imaginations, not on a real plane!) in the coming months.
