🌿 Congratulations to Green Street United Methodist Church in Winston-Salem on receiving the WNCC Green Church Award! 🎉

Yadkin Valley District Superintendent Rev. Dr. Mark Conforti presented the award on Sunday, September 13. Green Street is the eighth church in our conference to earn it.

The church gave a gift in return: artwork made from one of its 120-year-old stained glass windows. Those windows were replaced to make the building more energy efficient. Carol Weaver, who leads the church's Creation Care team, designed the piece and presented it on behalf of the congregation. 💚

Could your church be next? Our Creation Care Ministry team is ready to help you get started. To learn more, visit https://www.wnccumc.org/newsdetail/20025563

In between our 2 worship services with Pastor Beth preaching, we'll have the first of a 2-part series on Intersectional Current in the Harlem Renaissance, presented by a collaboration between our Anti-Racism Team and The Lavender Collective. The Lavender Collective will also offer its first Blind Date with a Book, where books from our Lavender Archives q***r media lending library are wrapped and hidden behind some basic information on genre and we set you up with your next read. And after 11:00 worship, lunch will be available to purchase from Delicious by Shereen, and if you stick around, you can join in the artist talk and demonstration by Janice Weiss.
