Child of God,
“You, who once were alienated
And hostile in mind, doing evil deeds,
He has now reconciled
In his body of flesh
By his death,
In order to present you
Holy and blameless
And above reproach before him….” (Col. 1:21-22)

Jesus came to claim you
So He could present you
Holy and blameless
And above reproach.

He presents you—
You don’t present yourself.

He makes you holy—
You don’t clean yourself.

He takes away the blame—
You don’t remove your own reproach.

I bless you today to see yourself
As God sees you
Through the crucified body of Christ
“His body of flesh”
Sacrificed on your behalf.

The more you see yourself a saint in His eyes,
The more you’ll choose holy steps.

“You may be filled
With the knowledge of his will
In all spiritual wisdom
And understanding,
So as to walk in a manner
Worthy of the Lord,
Fully pleasing to him:
Bearing fruit in every good work
And increasing in the knowledge of God….” (Col. 1:9-10)

Be filled!
With knowledge
Wisdom
Understanding—
That’s your secret gateway
To a beautiful walk with God.

It’s not your self-righteousness
That pleases Him.

It’s not your striving
Or sacrificing
Or straining.

Not your working
Or worrying
Or wailing
That makes Him happy.

It’s you being full
Of Him!
So that you walk
Close to Him—
That’s what makes God glad.

Be filled today, child of God,
Be filled!

Which has come to you…
Is bearing fruit and
Increasing.” (Colossians 1:5-6)

May you see it,
Feel it,
Taste it.

In invisible ways,
Extraordinary ways,
Mysterious ways,
Gospel seed that was
Planted in your soul
Even long ago
Germinates still,
Grows
Bears fruit
And more seed
To be sown for increase.

Beloved, don’t despise the
Days of small beginnings—
Or malign the months of
Mustard seeds.

God uses hidden things
Invisible things
Overlooked things
To bring about a harvest.

I bless you today to relish
The seed of the Gospel that has
Already taken deep root in your heart!
