Anne's is a congregation of the Episcopal Diocese of North Carolina. Our history: In 1964, at the height of the Civil Rights era, Bishop Thomas Fraser (Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of North Carolina, 1965-1983) believed that committed people in Winston-Salem shared his dream to create a more racially diverse church. He asked leaders from the local Episcopal Churches -- St. Stephen’s and St. Tim

othy’s -- to go forth from their home churches and organize a new, intentionally diverse church community in Winston-Salem. This new creation chose the name “St. Anne’s,” in part to honor women who had only recently been granted the right to serve on vestries, and St. Anne’s became a small church with a big heart and a progressive mission. Fifty years later, St. Anne’s continues to be a small church with a big heart and a progressive mission! Born in turbulent times and founded for positive change, St. Anne’s has always stood up and spoken out as a witness for justice, peace and nonviolence.

This morning, a great crew from St. Anne's joined other volunteers to serve at this morning's CBC food pantry. Thank you, Bill, Stuart W, Stuart B, Debbie, Brook, Thomas, and Bobby for all your hard work on this oppressively hot day. Mary brought along a couple personal fans that offered some relief.

Thank you, St Anne's family, for your faithful donations of diapers, wipes, and feminine hygiene products to the CBC Food Pantry. Every donated package was gone before we closed the pantry! 12 volunteers from St Anne's were the face and hands of Christ during today's food distribution.
