The Ecumenical Catholic Church+USA
Congregations and ministries of the Ecumenical Catholic Church+USA are part of the independent Catholic movement that cherishes the traditional Catholic liturgy and Sacraments. Our church is theologically open. All men and women of faith in Jesus Christ are welcomed to participation and membership and invited to receive the sacraments. All ranks of the clergy ar
e open to men and women, single and married. There are no barriers to the reception of the Sacraments on the basis not only of gender but also of age, race, marital status, ethnic background, lifestyle, or physical disability. We seek to embrace and to reconcile rather than to condemn and to alienate further those whose circumstances have caused them to experience rejection by churches and other religious groups. Although they share many of the same liturgical and sacramental traditions, the churches of our affiliation (the Ecumenical Catholic Church+USA) are not part of, nor associated with, the Roman Catholic Church. As part of the independent catholic movement in America, our congregations and ministries are in the Old Catholic Church tradition. The First Vatican Council in 1870 adopted the doctrine of Papal Infallibility. The Catholic Churches that did not accept Papal Infallibility and broke away from the Roman Catholic Church at that time are called Old Catholic Churches. Old Catholics, then, are an historic part of the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church. We trace the Apostolic Succession of our clergy through several lines including the Old Catholic Church. Our theology and beliefs are based on Sacred Scripture and the belief definitions of the seven Ecumenical Councils of the Catholic Faith that were held before the Great Schism of 1054 AD. We hope you will visit our website for additional information on our Church and its mission. Visit: www.ecc-usa.org. You are always welcome here. Participate in our worship service to the degree that you feel comfortable. All baptized Christians are invited to receive Holy Communion.
