A real Christian doesn’t curse people, especially not someone God has anointed. Our words weren’t given to us to tear others down. They are meant to carry life. The same mouth that praises God shouldn’t be used to speak death over others. That’s not who we are. That’s not who Jesus is.
James says it so clearly: “Out of the same mouth proceed blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not to be so.” (James 3:10, NKJV). You can’t have sweet and bitter water coming from the same spring. That kind of mixture has no place in the heart of someone filled with the Spirit of Christ.
And remember that our words matter more than we think. Proverbs reminds us that “Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit.” (Proverbs 18:21, NKJV). Every word we speak plants a seed, and we will taste the fruit of those seeds, whether good or bad.
You should also know that God fiercely protects His own. He told Abraham, “I will bless those who bless you, and I will curse him who curses you; and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.” (Genesis 12:3, NKJV). That wasn’t just a personal promise; it’s a spiritual principle. When we speak against those God has anointed, we aren’t just disagreeing with people, we are resisting God’s choice. It’s not just dishonor, it’s dangerous. So let’s guard our tongues and align our hearts with the Word of God. Speak life. Bless, not curse. Let our words sound like Jesus; words that heal, restore, and give grace.
