βI am the resurrection and the life. Those who believe in me, even though they die like everyone else, will live again. They are given eternal life for believing in me and will never perish." John 11:25-26 NLT
Today we celebrate the Homegoing of Deacon Thomas Earl Echoles, June 2, 1939 - August 14, 2025.
Deacon Echoles served in Faith Temple and the Mount Sinai District (Northern District) for many years as a Deacon, Usher, member of the "Faithful Few Choir," and was faithful in Sunday School, Prayer & Bible Band, Home & Foreign Mission Bible Studies. He attended the Church Services (Revivals, Anniversaries and Prayer meetings) faithfully. Some of the songs he was known for singing were: "Trouble in My Way," Get Right Church," and "Tell the Angels." He served under the leadership of Pastor Otis Lloyd, Pastor Oliser Ward, and Superintendent Roy C. Hadnot as well as Superintendent Raymond Flemons and Superintendent Hadnot in the Mount Sinai District (Northern District). Deacon Echoles united with Emmanuel COGIC under the leadership of Pastor Desmond Sweet, when he and Sister Dorothy Echoles moved to the Valley to be closer to the children.
Deacon Echoles did not meet any "strangers," he was a friend to all, a father, grandfather, uncle and a brother. We certainly will miss him during our morning prayer meetings.
We continue to pray for the Echoles family, Hayes family, Thomas family and all who loved and knew Deacon Echoles. God bless you, console you in your time of bereavement.
Superintendent/Pastor Roy C. Hadnot
