Faith Temple Church of God in Christ was founded in the late 40's or early 50's. W. Taylor. In 1955 Bishop J.

The first Church was built in Southside in the early 50's. This building was erected on corner of 4th and Pope under the leadership of Bishop J. There were many families in and around Winslow, Flagstaff, and Holbrook that contributed to the building of this great Church. Taylor was overseer and Pastor, he appointed Elder Bolwen as Pastor of this great church. The following Elders succeeded one ano

ther as Pastor: Elder Padell, Elder Jenkins, Elder, King, Elder McCurtis, Elder Hardy Lewis and Elder Johnson. In 1968 Elder Otis Lloyd was appointed Pastor, he led the Church for 14 years. Elder Lloyd was faithful in his service and in his giving. Elder Lloyd entered into his rest in 1982. Bishop Felton King became our Pastor, he served the Church until he appointed Elder Oliser Ward in August of 1983. Elder Ward was dedicated to his congregation, he served faithfully until April 2001 (his health would no longer permit him to fulfill his duties as Pastor). In July 2001, Bishop LeRoy R. Anderson, General Board member of the COGIC, with the approval of our State Bishop Felton King, appointed Elder Roy C. Hadnot as Pastor of Faith Temple. Elder Hadnot served as Assistant Pastor under the leadership of Pastor Ward for 3 or 4 years prior to his appointment as Pastor of Faith Temple.
