Today, we remember and honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our nation.

As Catholics, we entrust these fallen heroes to the mercy of God and pray for their eternal rest. May their sacrifice never be forgotten, and may we strive to build a society worthy of the freedoms they helped secure.

Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. May they rest in peace. Amen.

On this Memorial Day, we pause to remember and pray for the men and women who gave their lives in service to our country.

The call to the priesthood is a gift to the entire Church and your support helps make that call possible.

Each year, men in our diocese step forward to discern God’s will, preparing through years of formation, prayer, and study. This journey is deeply transformative, shaping future priests who will one day celebrate the sacraments, proclaim the Gospel, and walk with the faithful across southern Minnesota.

But formation comes with significant cost, about $45,000 per seminarian per year. For many who feel called, financial limitations can become a real obstacle.

The Bishops and Rector Dinner is only a few short hours away! We have an exciting evening planned with a catered meal, music by the IHMS seminarians, and an evening of philanthropy.

New this year, we will be hosting a silent auction with goodies from all over the diocese including gift certificates to local cafes and restaurants, admission tickets to the Minnesota Marine Art Museum in Winona, Word on Fire Catholic Ministries books signed by Bishop Robert Barron, and a dinner for four with Bishop Barron and Fr. Thompson, cooked by Fr. Thompson himself.
