We had a great sunrise service on Sunday. Thank you to everyone who came and helped make it a wonderful experience.

Wednesday evening, we will have our normal 5:45 meal, but then at 6:30, rather than separate Bible classes, we will all go to the auditorium for a special LTC presentation (puppets, chorus, etc) from the kids who participated and also hand out awards.

Hope to see you there!

The elders have decided to go ahead and cancel our Sunday worship services due to worsening road conditions and dangerous cold. We pray everyone stays safe. Please pass the word on.

We do not have a livestream, but you are more than welcome to stream another congregation or rewatch one of our previous worship services on our youtube channel.

As of right now, we are planning on keeping our normally scheduled worship services this weekend unchanged.

We do encourage you, however, to make wise decisions as to whether you should get out on Sunday morning. If the roads are bad and you are hesitant to drive - please stay home. If things are ok and you feel good about coming, we would love to see you. Either way, there is no pressure or expectation. We especially want our elderly and those who live a long ways out on rural roads to exercise caution.

Be safe and let us know if you need something.

Come to the WCA winter program Wednesday, Dec 17th starting at 6pm!

The different age groups will present what they have been learning - things like the Fruit of the Spirit, the book of James, and how to read Biblical Hebrew. We would love to see you there as we support these kids in their physical, academic, and especially spiritual growth.

We will eat together afterwards. Hope to see you there!

Winnsboro Church of Christ will begin a new GriefShare support group on Wednesday, August 27th at 6:30 pm, at the Winnsboro Church of Christ building

A Griefshare support group is a safe, welcoming place where people understand the difficult emotions of grief. Through this 13 week session, you'll discover what to expect in the days ahead and what's "normal" in grief. Since there are no neat, orderly stages of grief, you'll learn helpful ways of coping with grief in all its unpredictability - and gain solid support each step of the way.

If you think you could benefit from this program or know someone who might, I urge you to join us. There is no cost to attend. Please feel free to reach out to me for more information.

GriefShare connects you with others who understand grief. Find hope and healing in this supportive group, which meets both online and in person, hosted by Winnsboro Church of Christ.

Today's 10 chapters might sound like a lot (it is 4851 words in NIV), but it is actually shorter than the reading from Matthew 24-28 last Friday (5213 words).

Just so you know, Week seven's Thursday reading of John 6-10 is the longest of the eight weeks (5283 words). The shortest day will be in week eight when we read 1, 2, and 3 John (3150 words). The average number of words each day over the course of the entire reading plan is right at 4400 (in the NIV).

If you are reading out of the KJV, it is a little bit wordier with an average of about 4500 per day. The NASB is even more sitting at about 4600 per day - that is if you can trust the word counts that come up for the KJV and the NASB on the internet. The NIV I know is accurate. I did that word count myself when I was working on dividing out the chapters.

Regardless, it is not a lot. The average reader goes along at about 250-300 words per minute. This puts 5000 words at just 20 minutes if you just do 250. Personally, it usually takes me about 30 minutes because I like to read out loud to myself which is closer to only 200 words per minute (I also stop and ponder or make notes every now and then)

Hope you enjoyed today's random bit of not-quite worthless information. Keep reading!
