Stop chasing people who don’t chase you back. It’s okay to let go. Connection without reciprocity is simply habit. Like a train unable to stop; you’ll go down those tracks forever and end up being the one stuck in a flaming boxcar. Also, you don’t need to show up to every argument, discussion, or unkind comment/response you’re invited to. You’re allowed to let go of people who don’t value you. If they don’t have the “capacity” to appreciate how you show up for them…..They are probably no longer the ones you should be showing up for. Let go with love. Not everyone you care for is able to care for you. That’s okay. Perhaps there was a season when the connection thrived and now it’s a new season. You can still love them, but from a distance. People like to use the word “boundaries” these days; so often however, it’s just an excuse to be rude and callous. That’s okay. Let people show you who they are, then decide if you want to keep signing up for them. You shouldn’t have to walk on eggshells to be in somebody’s life. The people who demand that the most, are generally the ones who have been cracking eggs over your head for years. You can let go with love. It’s okay. Even Jesus knew how to walk away…..With love and prayers that the hard people find their softness, that the rude people find their grace, and that the entitled people find their humility, and most of all — That the lost people come into sincere relationship with Him. May we all fall into line along the breadth and raw honesty of this sentiment and be healed. May we be better humans tomorrow, than we are today. Amen.
