Wingate, North Carolina Midway Baptist Church is a church rooted in the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

We exist to bring glory to God and to make His name known among the nations. Our mission statement is, "We will bring glory to God by winning people to Christ, develop them to Christ like maturity, and in every stage of their lives equip them to be ministers in the world."

As a member of the Southern Baptist Convention and Union Baptist Association, we support local, state, national and internat

ional missions through a cooperative effort with our sister churches. We complete mission work ourselves within our nation's borders and internationally. The goal of all of our ministries, whether within our church building or in the mission field, is to lead unbelievers to a saving relationship with Jesus Christ and or a deeper relationship with God among believers.

“It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich person to enter the kingdom of God.” Mark 10:25

What does Jesus mean by this statement?

Is God opposed to the wealthy?

Does He have a preference for the poor?

If it’s physically impossible for a camel to squeeze through the eye of a needle, what hope is there for a “rich person” to go to heaven? Is that really what He means?

And who decides what is “rich” and what isn’t, anyway?

Join us this Sunday as we conclude our series on the Parables of Jesus and look at Jesus’ view on wealth and the hope of both the wealthy and the impoverished in this world and the next.

We hope to see you!

“I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in Me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing.”
John 15:5

Jesus spoke these words the night before He went to the Cross. With only His disciples present, He was preparing them for not only what was going to happen to Him, He was preparing them for what was going to happen to them.

The relationship that they had enjoyed for the past three years was about to change radically. But one thing was not changing: “apart from Me you can do nothing.”

But with Him?

With Him everything changes. With Him we can do all things, we can do the most important things, we can do what we were created to be: fruitful.

Join us this Sunday as we look at Jesus’ parable of the vinedresser, God’s work in our lives to make us more fruitful.

Imagine facing a debt of such magnitude that you would never be able to pay it off. You would work the rest of your life and would not even cover the interest accruing each year.

What would that feel like?

Then imagine being told that that debt had been forgiven. No more interest, not more payments, no more debt.

How would that feel, after such a crushing sense of hopelessness?

These are the emotions that Jesus describes in His parable found at the end of Luke chapter seven.

Join us this Sunday as we find Jesus’ message of hope and gratitude in this story of an immense debt forgiven.

This week we’ll look at Jesus’ parable of the laborers in the vineyard.

Some workers put in 12 hours; others put in less than one hour. And they all get the same wage!

That doesn’t seem fair, does it?

And the workers certainly don’t think so! And the let the bossman hear about it.

Why doesn’t the master act in an equitable way? What is the meaning behind this parable? What does Jesus want us to take away?

Join us this Sunday as we look at this parable and find the answers to these questions.
