Wingate, North Carolina Midway Baptist Church is a church rooted in the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

We exist to bring glory to God and to make His name known among the nations. Our mission statement is, "We will bring glory to God by winning people to Christ, develop them to Christ like maturity, and in every stage of their lives equip them to be ministers in the world."

As a member of the Southern Baptist Convention and Union Baptist Association, we support local, state, national and internat

ional missions through a cooperative effort with our sister churches. We complete mission work ourselves within our nation's borders and internationally. The goal of all of our ministries, whether within our church building or in the mission field, is to lead unbelievers to a saving relationship with Jesus Christ and or a deeper relationship with God among believers.

Too often, we treat our faith like a job interview. We worry that our "spiritual resume" isn't impressive enough, that someone else can do it, or that our past disqualifies us. Thankfully, God doesn't operate on the world's hiring criteria. He isn't looking for your flawless ability; He is looking for your availability.
Join us this Sunday as we dive into God's word to discuss what it means to be "Willing."

Who decides what is true?

And how do you know who to trust to tell you what is true?

Certainly, this matters in a doctor’s office or when you read the news, but this is even more important for those who are charged with speaking the truths of God.

Join us this Sunday as we look at what Jesus describes as “wolves in sheep’s clothing,” those who would manipulate the things of God for personal benefit. Jesus warned His disciples just as He warns us today and He tells us how to identify and avoid these dangerous manipulators.

An unpleasant topic, but unfortunately necessary.

We hope to see you Sunday.

We are approaching the end of our series on Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount. Following His summary statement, commonly referred to as the Golden Rule, Jesus issues four warnings concerning either ignoring His words or obeying them.

In the first of these warnings, Jesus states that obeying His words are a difficult climb upwards while ignoring Him is an easy path moving slowly downwards to… destruction.

Which raises the question, “Why does it have to be so hard?” Shouldn’t obedience lead towards peace and calm? Shouldn’t obedience result in ease and comfort?

Join us this Sunday as we look at this warning and see that the path upwards is well worth the effort.

“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.” -Matthew 7:7

Ask, and it will be given to you?

Seek for it and you will find it?

Knock on any door and it will be opened wide for you?

Sign me up!

What wonderful words, as there are so many things we want, things we’re looking for, places we’d like to be.

And yet…

We cannot take one verse from Jesus’ teaching out of all the rest of Jesus’ teaching.

And so…

What do we do with this verse in the context of “blessed are the poor in spirit,” “blessed are those persecuted for righteousness’ sake,” and “you must be perfect as your Heavenly Father is perfect?”

Join us this Sunday as we look at Jesus’ teaching on seeking and finding and see that what is offered to us is greater than we could ever think to ask for.

Don’t worry, they say.

Be happy, they say.

Every little thing’s gonna be alright, they say.

And yet…

Who’s going to pay all these bills, we ask.

Inflation and geopolitical factors stretch our budgets and there’s always an unexpected expense that shows up at the last minute.

Financial pressures are nothing new, and Jesus directly addressed the anxieties we face in life in the Sermon on the Mount.

This Sunday we’ll look at Jesus’ response to our financial anxieties, calling us to look first at our Father’s character and His promises.

We hope you’ll join us!
