Hard work paid off today and we can see the loose stones between the trees but the poison ivy kept us from moving them. Overall we were able to reset one stone, repair three and clean many more. All brush and overgrowth is cleaned out. We will return in a few weeks to repair and clean more stones and develop a plan for the broken obelisks. We are accepting donations!

Thank you for visiting this page!

Mecklenburg Chapter DAR has adopted the Williams-Griffin cemetery to clean up and repair grave stones, replace the fence, possibly remove trees, and install a DAR marker to Rev War Patriot Joseph Williams.

We are fundraising for the costs of these items. Any amount that you can give would be incredibly appreciated and all donations are tax deductible! Visit the project website on the page link or this direct donation page: https://www.paypal.com/fundraiser/charity/1941239. We will also accept donations of D2 solution for cleaning stones, as this is a significant cost. And we are interested in connections to local fencing companies willing to donate time and/or materials to this and other cemetery repairs in our project.

Work days will be posted and volunteers can join us! The first project assessment day is Oct 8th and is tentatively for chapter members only, but please message us if you have a special interest in attending.

Help me spread the word about Mecklenburg Chapter NSDAR. Together we can make a difference.
