Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it. - Proverbs 22:6
At the core of our curriculum is God's Word which tells us that-
1. God Created the World in 6 ordinary days and rested on day 7,
establishing the World we live in.
- That He still sustains the World through His powerful life giving Word.
- That humans are Stewards of His creat
ion.
- That humans, due to the fall are born sinful
and continue to sin by what we do and what we do not do
2. As Created and Redeemed Children of God we are set apart to live Godly lives. Lessons and activities are designed in order to expose the students to the love of Christ. All are encouraged to share this love with others. Transformed by the Gospel, they are blessed to live and work in God-pleasing ways. While structured religion classes may be held at certain times each day, students are encouraged to exercise their faith in every aspect of the school day, in every subject area, at work, and at play. Chapel services are held weekly, ordinarily Friday mornings. During these services, students sing, pray, share Scripture verses, and hear important lessons from God’s Word. Ordinarily, classes are given opportunities during the year to lead portions or entire chapel services. The curriculum is informed by state standards, but should be understood as an exploration and explanation of the world God has given us. We use a combination of secular, and faith-based resources. Technology, in the form of computers and Clear Touch Boards are among the tools used. Band and orchestra participation are available through the Winfield Public School District. Other music instruction takes place in conjunction with our school choirs. These choirs work on various types of music, and participate in Sunday worship services several times during the school year. An "early room" is available to students at no extra charge beginning at 7:15am until 7:45am for those parents who need to drop their children off. Hot lunch and bus transportation are available in cooperation with USD 465.
