"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you."
-Matt. 28:19-20a (NIV)

Our core beliefs are best expressed in the Church of the Nazarene's Articles of Faith - 16 essential truths in which we do not compromise. Each article is firmly rooted in scripture with

affirmation from the global Church's Spirit-led experience, reason and tradition. Read more about our Articles of Faith at www.Nazarene.org

The Church of the Nazarene is one of the few truly global denominations in the Christian faith, with organized, local churches in more than 160 world areas.

Our mission is to love God and love others, as commanded by Christ in scripture. We believe we are called to make Christlike disciples in the nations, and we fulfill this calling through regular worship, discipleship and service in the name of Christ.

Week 2: Be Generous

This Sunday, we continue our sermon series, Be Generous!

We'll be asking an important question: Why do we sometimes miss opportunities to be generous, even when we know that one simple act of generosity could make a difference in someone's life?

Come join us this Sunday! Everyone is welcome!

As a pastor and as someone who loves this community, my heart is heavy today.

The last few days have brought an incredible amount of sadness and shock to Winfield. Families are hurting, people are trying to process what has happened, and many of us are simply struggling to find the right words.

So today, I don't want to say much. I just want to ask you to pray. Pray for the families who are hurting and for those who have been directly affected by these tragedies. Pray for our first responders, police officers, dispatchers, medical personnel, and everyone who has had to walk through these difficult circumstances.

Pray for our children and young people. Pray for our schools, our teachers, and our community leaders, and pray for the people who may be hurting in silence, carrying burdens that the rest of us can not see. Most of all, pray that God would surround this community with His presence and bring comfort where there is grief, peace where there is fear, and hope where things feel dark.

Scripture tells us: "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit." - Psalm 34:18

I believe that with my whole heart.

Winfield is our community. These are our neighbors. These are people we know and people we may never have met. Let's not just talk about what happened; let's pray for one another, love one another, and be there for one another. If you don't know what else to do, start with prayer.

Church, let's pray for Winfield, and let's keep praying.
