Our core beliefs are best expressed in the Church of the Nazarene's Articles of Faith - 16 essential truths in which we do not compromise. Read more about our Articles of Faith at www.Nazarene.org

The Church of the Nazarene is one of the few truly global denominations in the Christian faith, with organized, local churches in more than 160 world areas.

Our mission is to love God and love others, as commanded by Christ in scripture. We believe we are called to make Christlike disciples in the nations, and we fulfill this calling through regular worship, discipleship and service in the name of Christ.

Have you ever prayed about something over and over again and wondered if God was truly listening?

Maybe you asked Him for direction, healing, provision, or just a sign that He is there. You continue to do your best by showing up, continuing to pray, continuing to trust Him, but if you are honest, it feels like God is awfully quiet.

I think we are honest with ourselves; we have all been there from time to time.

One of the things I have learned is that God's silence does not mean He is absent. Just because we can not hear Him does not mean He isn't working.

When I look at Scripture, I see people who had to wait. Moses waited for the promised land. Jacob waited and wrestled with God through years of uncertainty and family struggles. Joseph waited in prison. David waited to become king. Abraham waited for God's promise. Hannah waited for a child. Elijah waited on God through drought, discouragement, and isolation. Job waited through intense suffering for God to answer and restore him. Not one of them knew what God was doing in the moment. They simply had to trust that God was still writing their story.

Maybe that is exactly where some of us are today. We want answers, but God is asking for trust. We want clarity, but God is teaching us faith. We want to see the whole picture, but God is only showing us a step at a time.

The reality is that some of God's greatest work happens in seasons where we can't see much happening at all. Yet, He is shaping us, growing us, teaching us, and preparing us for things we may not even realize.

So if you feel like you are in this season where God feels quiet, DON'T GIVE UP!

Keep Praying.
Keep Trusting
Keep taking the next faithful step.

The same God who has carried you this far has not left you now. He is still present. He is still faithful, and He is still working even when all you can hear is silence.

"Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for Him." Psalm 37:7

If you take a look at how Jesus is presented in the beginning of chapter 3 in Hebrews, you would notice that Jesus is described in three ways: Apostle, High Priest, and Builder of His house (The Body of Christ).

As the Apostle, Jesus lays the foundation of the house - Jesus is the foundation of our faith.

As a Builder, He constructs the house and is building us together as living stones.

As a High Priest, He attends to the affairs of the house. Jesus is interceding and ministering to us in our development so that we might be a bright, clean, well-furnished house fit for the Master's use.

In light of all that Jesus has done and is doing for us, He wants us to be firm in our response to Him. He wants you to be firm in Confidence, assured that He is doing the right thing, the good thing, and the best thing for us. He wants us to be firm in Rejoicing, thanking Him for what he is doing, and celebrating His skilled workmanship in us. He wants us to be firm in Hope, being certain that He will not abandon the work He has begun in us.

Today, do you realize that Christ is great and powerful? Are you relying on yourself to accomplish things? Is Christ the center of your life? Are you holding firm?
