When I was diagnosed with diabetes in January 2026, everything changed.

I had lost nearly 30 pounds in a month. My blood sugar levels were dangerously high. My A1C was off the charts. I was hospitalized, and the truth is, I could have died.

But God gave me a second chance.

I’ve always believed in fitness. For more than 25 years, I’ve worked as a personal trainer, health coach, entrepreneur, and pastor, helping people live well—mind, body, and spirit. But after that experience, fitness became even more personal.

Today, my office reflects who I am and what I believe. I moved my gym equipment out of the basement and into my office because I wanted my environment to support the life I am committed to living. I still train clients at our locations in Windsor, East Brunswick, and Somerset, but I’ve learned something important:

To live a healthy life, you have to develop a strategy that works for you.

Not someone else’s strategy. Not the latest trend. Your strategy.

That’s what I hope every client discovers.

Here are three things you can do immediately to create a strategy that works for you:

1. Get Professional Guidance

Hire a fitness trainer, health coach, or wellness professional who can help you create a personalized plan.

If you’d like support, visit kahlilcarmichaelfitness.com and schedule a consultation with me.

2. Design Your Environment for Success

Make healthy choices easier and unhealthy choices harder.

Keep your workout clothes visible. Set up a space in your home for exercise. Stock your refrigerator with healthy foods. Create an environment that supports your goals instead of fighting against them.

3. Start Small and Stay Consistent

You don’t have to do everything today.

Start with a 10-minute walk. Drink more water. Strength train twice a week. Choose one healthy habit and repeat it until it becomes part of your lifestyle.

Small actions, repeated consistently, create lasting transformation.

My experience taught me that health is not about perfection. It’s about preparation, intention, and consistency. God gave me another opportunity to care for this body, and I’m determined to make the most of it.

My prayer is that you will do the same.

“Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.” — 3 John 1:2

Something happened in worship today.

As I preached from Romans 8:14, “For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God,” something shifted in the atmosphere. We didn’t just hear about being children of God—we worshiped like children of God.

There was freedom. There was joy. There was expectation. There was healing. There was power.

It felt as though the Holy Spirit lifted us to a new place and reminded us who we are and whose we are. God empowered us to simply be the people He has called us to be.

I am so grateful for every visitor who joined us, every person who gave their life to Christ, every new member who connected with our church family, and every worshiper who opened their heart to God. Thank you to our incredible leadership team for your faithful service, teaching, and commitment to the Kingdom.

Today was more than a service—it was a divine moment. God is up to something at Live Well Church, and I believe we are witnessing the beginning of a new season.

The healing presence of God was there. The power of God was there. The Spirit of God was there.

To God be all the glory!

On Memorial Day, we pause to honor and remember the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our nation. We remember their sacrifice, hold their families in prayer, and give thanks for the freedoms secured through their courage.

Joshua 1:9 (NIV)
“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”

“Courage is not the absence of fear—it is choosing to move forward with God anyway.” — Pastor Kahlil Carmichael
