We are eight weeks into our sermon series called The Wisdom of Ecclesiastes: Life Under the Sun. In this book the preacher has been pointing out the futility of a self-centered life and instead directing his audience toward trust in God. This week we will be continuing our series by studying Ecclesiastes 8:1-17. In this section the teacher provides wisdom regarding authority and injustice—specifically he explains that one should obey the king, fear God despite injustice, and enjoy life. Join us this Sunday at 10:30am as we study God’s Word and seek to apply it to our lives.

Currently, we are in the midst of a Sunday sermon series called The Wisdom of Ecclesiastes: Life Under the Sun. The main thesis of this book is: all is smoke. The author is trying to convince his audience that making any pursuit ultimate, above God, is foolish. This week we will be studying Ecclesiastes 7:13-8:1. In this section the teacher provides perspective in light of the complicated nature of life. He reminds his listeners that God is good even when hardship comes to the righteous or when wisdom still doesn’t solve the problem. Join us this Sunday at 10:30am as we study this passage and seek to apply it to our lives.

Currently we are in the middle of our Sunday sermon series called The Wisdom of Ecclesiastes: Life Under the Sun. The purpose of this series has been to offer a contrasting perspective to Proverbs, one that deals with the perplexing nature of life while pointing us to trust in God. This week we will be studying Ecclesiastes 5:8-6:12. In this section the teacher explains the futility of wealth, warning his audience about its fleeting, insecure, and insatiable nature. Then, he encourages them to rejoice in the blessings from God. Join us this Sunday at 10:30am as we study this passage and seek to apply it to our lives.

This week, we will take a brief break from our study of Ecclesiastes and jump back into Proverbs. As we celebrate Mother’s Day, we want to study Proverbs 31:10-31, considering what God’s Word has to say about what it means to be a godly woman. Mainly, we will learn that beauty and charm should not be the highest value among women; the highest value should be to fear the LORD. Join us this Sunday at 10:30am as we study and apply these principles to our lives.

We are currently in a series called The Wisdom of Ecclesiastes: Life Under the Sun. This book is a sobering look at the vain pursuits humans often chase and the complexities life has to offer. This week we will be studying Ecclesiastes 4:1-5:7. In this section the teacher explains life’s hardships and blessings which all center around relationships. He explains the futility of work without comfort or family, but the blessing of relationships and counsel, reminding his audience that true wisdom is to fear the LORD. Join us this Sunday at 10:30am as we study this passage and seek to apply it to our lives.

A few weeks ago we started a new series called The Wisdom of Ecclesiastes: Life Under the Sun. This book is part of the wisdom writing of the Old Testament, providing a realistic perspective on the complexities life has to offer. This week, we will be studying Ecclesiastes 3:1-22 and will observe that in light of the problem with futility, the teacher points his audience to the reality of the providence of God—the truth that God orchestrates a time for all things. Join us this Sunday at 10:30am as we study this passage and seek to apply it to our lives.

Last week, we started a new series called The Wisdom of Ecclesiastes: Life Under the Sun. After spending several months in the book of Proverbs, we now turn to another wisdom book of the Bible. As we do, we will find that this writing is quite different from Proverbs, offering a more complex and sobering perspective on life. This week in Ecclesiastes 1:12–26, the Preacher will draw on his experiences and privileges as king to demonstrate the futility of knowledge, self-indulgence, wise living, and work. He concludes that these are all fleeting and ultimately unsatisfying, and instead encourages his audience toward faith in God, who enables His people to enjoy life’s simple pleasures. Join us this Sunday at 10:30am as we study this passage and seek to apply it to our lives.

This week, we are starting a new series called: The Wisdom of Ecclesiastes: Life Under the Sun. Over the last several months, we have been spending time studying the wisdom of Proverbs. As we have observed, Proverbs describes wisdom as an understandable pattern of causes and effects, but as we begin our journey in Ecclesiastes, we will see that this book offers a contrasting perspective. Though it’s not contradictory, Ecclesiastes does present the world as much more complex.

As we begin, this week we will be introduced to the main theme of the book, the Hebrew word hebel. This word can be translated as vanity, smoke, or meaningless—leading some to conclude that Ecclesiastes has a pessimistic perspective on the world. What we hope you will experience is not the pessimism of the book, but rather the incredible wisdom from seeing the world in a realistic way. We invite you to join us this Sunday at 10:30am as we attempt to add another layer of wisdom to our lives, one that understands the complexity of life but still finds ultimate meaning in God.
